MTO Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Reduction Initiative – What does this mean to your upcoming MTO Projects?
The Ministry of Transportation of Ontario (MTO) has recently issued a new “GHG Reduction Initiative” that requires the concrete producer to optimize their concrete mix designs to reduce the greenhouse gas emissions by 10% or 20%, depending on the exact specification utilized in the contract. This webinar will review the primary methods that the concrete industry can use to reduce our GHG emissions on these projects by using: Portland Limestone Cement (GUL), Supplementary Cementing Materials (SCM’s), or Limestone Fillers. It will also identify the opportunities that the industry has to highlight the improved environmental performance of ready mixed concrete, as well as addressing some of the technical challenges that may be experienced with this initiative.
Presenters: Michael Stanzel – Lehigh Hanson, Bart Kanters – Concrete Ontario and Alen Keri – Concrete Ontario
