A CSA Standards Concrete Field Testing Technician is an individual who has demonstrated the knowledge and ability to properly perform and record the results of eight basic field test methods and standard practices on freshly-mixed concrete as prescribed by CSA A23.2 test methods.

UPDATE (October 2023): A23.2–7C—Air Content of Plastic Concrete by the Volumetric Method has been completely removed from this course and will no longer be a testing requirement. (Previously only on the written exam)

Online Review
The review will be held online on the morning of September 23rd from 9:00am to 11:00am. A link will be sent directly to all registered participants a week prior.
Written Exam
The written exam location is the Courtyard Marriott, 2960 King Street East, Kitchener
The Re-write will take place on September 24th alone (if you are taking a re-write you are free to join at the September 23rd online review session as it is optional).
Performance Exam
The performance exam will take place after the written exam at Tri-City Ready Mix, located at 36 Manitou Drive Kitchener
Books will be sent out starting mid-July
Last day to register is Friday, September 12th, 2025

- Please note: This course includes an in-person test methods review and performance tests practice session. However, we encourage all participants to come prepared and having prior testing knowledge and experience.
- All testing equipment will be provided for the performance exam.
- PPE is mandatory and all participants must comply with all safety protocols. A limited supply of extra gloves will be available for individuals who may require them.
- PPE REQUIREMENTS – Safety Boots, Eye Protection, Hardhat, Safety Vest, Gloves and Jeans

Test Accommodations
If any accommodations are needed by a participant to complete either the written or performance exam, please notify Concrete Ontario at the time of registration. Accommodations are only provided if the examinee makes the request prior to the exam date. To qualify, the participant will need to submit a doctors note stating the reason and need for the specific accommodations.
Test accommodations include (but are not limited to):
- Assistive personnel
- Additional testing time
- Break time
